Taking a look today at CNET (http://news.cnet.com/) today, I found this really cool story called "Affordable single-person rocket launched" by Chris Matyszczyk. This article talked about a new invention called the Heat-1X rocket, which is a small rocket built for one. It's absolutely unbelievable.
The Heat-1X rocket was invented by a nonprofit organization and it "only" costs $69,000 to build. Something unusual about this rocket is that rather than sitting or lying down (like in a traditional aircraft), the one person passenger has to stand up the entire time. I guess the question now is, "Wouldn't that be uncomfortable?"
Before running out to purchase your own rocket though, it obviously important to know that this project is still in its beginning phases. Creators realize they have more to work on, but I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing more soon.
Who would have ever thought that we can ALL be astronauts? Imagine the possibilities, being able to give someone their own rocket for present or taking a get-away to outer space. Who knows, maybe one day, "spacing out" will actually involve one of these Heat-1X rockets. I guess dreams really do come true.
